Ever considered taking a role that allows you to lead and influence the technical operations of a well-established food manufacturer? Our client, a reputable player in the retail and food service supply chain, is looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join their team. This position is a unique chance to steer the company's high standards of food safety and quality systems, whilst innovating new ways to exceed them.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead the Technical Department to execute business goals and KPIs.
• Ensure robust technical relations with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, NPD, and supplier auditing colleagues.
• Provide prompt and effective solutions to all technical matters, including quality and food safety issues.
• Supervise and manage customer and supplier complaints, complaints costs, non-conformance reporting, and audit findings.
• Maintain technical contracts, including micro and chemical laboratories, pest control service, calibration services, and technical memberships.
• Offer technical advice and suggestions throughout the organisation.
• Act as the liaison between customers and Enforcing Authorities.
• Assure compliance with food safety, food hygiene legislation, HACCP, and quality management systems.
Requirements
• Degree/HND/HNC in Food Science/Technology or similar.
• Advanced qualifications in Food Safety and Food Hygiene.
• Successful completion of ‘Train the Trainer’.
• Lead Assessor Qualified/
• Ability to apply knowledge of food safety and food hygiene legislation, including HACCP.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and persuading skills.
• Strong organisational, motivational, and time management skills.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing a technical function including Quality, Specifications, and NPD.
