Job Title: Controls Engineer (2 year FTC)
Location: Cornwall
Salary: c£60,000 

Overview:
This is your chance as a Controls Engineer to be part of a large, well-established food manufacturing business that continues to invest heavily in automation, innovation, and its people. Supplying major retailers across the UK, the site is undergoing significant capital investment and offers a great opportunity to make an impact within a forward-thinking engineering team.

About you…
You’ll have experience working as a Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer, or similar role within a manufacturing or process environment — ideally food, FMCG, or similar fast-paced industry.
You will be confident in:
•    PLC programming, fault finding, and modification (Siemens S7 / Allen Bradley / Mitsubishi)
•    Working with SCADA systems, HMIs, and variable speed drives
•    Supporting automation and control projects from concept through to implementation
•    You’re someone who enjoys solving problems, improving efficiency, and ensuring production runs smoothly. A team player with a logical mindset and excellent attention to detail.

What will you be doing?
•    As Controls Engineer, you will Provide day-to-day support for site automation systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
•    Lead and support electrical and controls projects, including upgrades and new installations.
•    Work closely with the Engineering and Production teams to identify and deliver process improvements.
•    Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards across all automation systems.
•    Liaise with external suppliers and contractors as required.
