Location: Yorkshire / Lincolnshire / North of England Overview: Over the past 24 months, this food manufacturing business has been on quite the journey. They’ve invested a lot of money into their kitchens, factories and their innovation pipeline for the next 3 to 5 years. They’re in need of someone to steer the ship. The business is going through an abundance of positive change led by the owners however they are not where they need to be yet, there are still a few ongoing challenges. Meaning, we do need an experienced individual with a strong background in the chilled category to succeed in this role.   Experience Required.   ·       As the Head of NPD, you will be expected to have worked with major retailers including but not limited to Sainsburys, Waitrose, Tesco, Morrisons, M&S etc. ·       You’ll understand the pace and complexity of working in a chilled low care and/or high care environment. ·       Ideally you will have a relevant degree but it’s not essential, we’re looking for experience over qualifications on this occasion. ·       Understanding the stage gate process and adhering to it. You will find yourself accountable for the effective use of the process, if changes need to be made, you’re responsible for changing them. ·       Managing large scale strategies in line with company expectations. ·       Comfortable within environments in which reacting to change is a given. Its not uncommon that you will plan for your week and find your attention pulled away.   The Role. ·       Reporting directly into the Innovation Director of the group and having responsibility for a small team varying in experience.   ·       Engaging cross functionally with key stakeholders including but not limited to Innovation Head, Commercial Managers, Engineering Manager, Site Technical Manager and so on. ·       Financial responsibility for the cost of new products and cost of products which have been signed off. ·       Ensure that you establish the product portfolio for each season. ·       Provide information on time and in full to the Innovation Director ahead of retail meetings and presentations. ·       Steer the stage gate process. ·       Develop the skillsets of the NPD Managers, Chefs and wider development teams.    If you're interested in this opportunity, please submit your CV via the link provided quoting reference HM/TNT/913 We are seeking applications from talented Senior New Product Development Managers, NPD Controllers, Head of NPD or Head of Food who have had a specific focus on chilled food.
